Backlink prospecting
Give a client domain, get back up to 40 checked places where that client can realistically get a link or a mention: guest-post programmes, resource pages, directories, awards and roundups, and pages that already cover the client's competitors. Every prospect comes with a quote from the page that proves the fit, the way to get on the page, and a contact route that was opened and checked: a submission form, contributor guidelines, an editorial email printed on the site, or a real contact page.
Built for agencies: one call per client domain, results ready for outreach, no manual searching.
Backlink prospecting is switched on for a key on request: write to support@omev.be. Searches are charged to the key's usual balance.
Price
| What | Price |
|---|---|
| One domain search (up to 40 prospects) | $2.00 |
| Quick domain list (preliminary, one call) | $0.019 |
You pay once per domain search, when you first download a finished result with at least
5 prospects. Repeated downloads, find-more continuations of the same search, searches
that end with fewer than 5 prospects, failed and cancelled searches are not charged.
Start a search
curl -sS https://llmapi.omev.be/v1/backlinks/jobs/create \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $OMEV_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"website": "https://rumpl.com",
"markets": ["US"],
"languages": ["en"],
"target_count": 40,
"idempotency_key": "acme-17-rumpl-2026-09"
}'
| Field | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
website | yes | the client site; a public http/https address |
markets | no | country codes the links should come from, such as ["US"] |
languages | no | page languages, default ["en"] |
target_count | no | how many prospects, default 40, maximum 100 |
goal | no | a short note on what the client wants, sharpens the search |
optional_context | no | page_url to promote one page instead of the whole site; product, audience, competitors as hints |
idempotency_key | no | up to 200 characters; repeating it returns the same job instead of starting a new one |
The answer is the job:
{"job_id": "blj_…", "status": "queued", "target_count": 40, "hard_deadline_seconds": 3600}
Follow the search
A search takes 10–25 minutes: the service reads the client site, maps its competitors and alternatives, searches, opens every candidate page and checks its contact route. Poll every 30 seconds.
curl -sS https://llmapi.omev.be/v1/backlinks/jobs/get \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $OMEV_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"job_id": "blj_…"}'
status is queued, running, then one of completed, partial, failed, cancelled.
completion_reason explains the end: target_reached, saturation_reached (the niche gave
fewer good prospects than asked), deadline_reached, cancelled, error.
To stop a search, send the same body to /v1/backlinks/jobs/cancel.
Download the prospects
curl -sS https://llmapi.omev.be/v1/backlinks/jobs/result \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $OMEV_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"job_id": "blj_…"}'
While the search runs, the call returns what is ready so far (partial_view: true).
The finished result holds status, completion_reason, coverage (how many pages were
found, opened and qualified) and the opportunities list, best first.
Each prospect:
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
target_url, target_domain, page_title | the page to approach |
category | kind of opportunity: resource_page, expert_contribution (guest posts, expert quotes), competitor_inclusion_gap (a page that covers competitors but not the client), listicle_comparison, podcast_newsletter_blog, partner_vendor_ecosystem, community_participation, other_evidence_backed |
why_relevant | why the page fits the client, in one sentence |
evidence | verbatim quotes from the page: fit, placement mechanism, contact |
next_step | type (submission_form, guidelines_page, email_on_page, contact_page), url (or the email address) and a short instruction |
suggested_pitch, first_pitch_line | what to offer and a first line that refers to the page |
placement.tier | ready (the site invites submissions) or outreach (write to the editor) |
flags | weak_fit (adjacent audience, worth a try), paid_placement (the site asks for a fee), ugc_or_community (community post) |
commercial_condition | free, paid or unknown, only when the page says so |
opportunity_score | 0–100, for sorting |
corrections lists pages that already mention the client without a link: ask them to add it.
What the service does not do: it does not guess personal emails that are not on the site, and it does not show authority metrics such as DA or DR.
Find more
To get more prospects for the same domain without repeats:
curl -sS https://llmapi.omev.be/v1/backlinks/jobs/find-more \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $OMEV_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"job_id": "blj_…", "add_count": 20}'
It starts a new job that skips every prospect already delivered. It is part of the same domain search and is not charged again.
Quick domain list (preliminary)
POST /v1/backlinks/discover returns in a few seconds a preliminary list of domains:
peer sites for link exchange and sites that may publish the client. The list is built from
search results by a model and is not checked: pages are not opened, there are no
quotes and no contact routes. Use it for a first look; use the search above for outreach.
curl -sS https://llmapi.omev.be/v1/backlinks/discover \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $OMEV_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"domain": "rumpl.com", "niche": "outdoor blankets", "limit": 20}'
| Field | Required | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
domain | yes | the client domain |
niche | no | a short description of the subject area |
goals | no | link_exchange, guest_post |
limit | no | how many domains of each kind, default 20 |
The answer holds peers and opportunities, each with domain, type, relevance
(0–1, fit to the niche) and a short note. Price: $0.019 per call.
